Dos Months

This picture is no reflection on what kind of baby Mack is.... He is the best baby and we are enjoying him so much. On the 28th of October he was 2 months old. I can't believe how fast he's growing and all the things that he's able to do at such a young age. At the drs office on his appointment he was smiling and flirting with the nurse while she was weighing his 12 lb 2 oz body and measuring his 22 1/2 inches of cuteness. Then she gave him 3 shots and he was ticked. I'm sure he's not going to be that nice to her next time! Ever since Mack was born he has been holding his head up. I know everyone likes to say things to brag about their kids but he seriously is the strongest little dude. I don't remember any of my kids being this way. We have had to use little support to help him hold his head up. Now at 2 months he has it completely mastered. He loves to smile and is starting to laugh and coo, which to me is the cutest thing a baby can do. He has rolled over a dozen times and even did twice for the doc @ his 2 month appt. He sleeps, eats, and smells good! We love our little Mack and we are hoping his middle name "Bear" can start rolling off our tongues easier since this was to be his name......

Halloween (Oct.30th) was spent with the kids going out to lunch as a family and hanging out the rest of day in the crazy rain waiting to go Trick or Treating. The kids were so excited and loved their costume choices. We headed to G & G Fjeldsteds before T or T to show off costumes and eat Sloppy Joes. After we headed back home to hit up all the houses for some goodies. It was a fun night and the weather turned out great that night!!

Birthday......5!

This beauty is 5! Her birthday was on Oct. 12th. That day happened to be the same day that Myles was to get his cast removed and pins out. We did that in the morning and then she was able to choose where to eat lunch. She chose Olive Garden... We had lunch there with her Grandma J, Aunt D and her mom and 2 brothers.(Sorry Mas-someone has to go to school) Later that night we had grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles and cousins over for taco salads and cake and ice cream. She got lots of presents and lots of hugs and kisses.

From her grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cuzs she got a gift card to Target!! She spent it well. From her G & G Bartholomew- Jammies

A few things about this little princess that make our lives so great are her raspy voice, her laugh, her wide vocabulary(which sometimes gets her in trouble), the love she has for the boys in her life. She loves her brothers and "really" loves her dad! She will take or leave me.... She is the second mom of the family. She'd like to believe she's the BOSS. She is very girly loving her makeup, shoes, dress-ups and purses, but is dreaming of the day she can dress in camou and go hunting with her dad! She can be sweet and rough and tough too. Maggs loves preschool and her teacher. She is so smart and often practices her writing skills on my wall! She loves dance and her dance teacher Miss Emily. She has been given the nickname "Teen" since she was little and it has stuck-she was so tiny when she was little so we called her teeny tiny and the teen stuck.... She's growing up way to fast and not too tiny anymore.... Love you Teen and Happy 5th Birthday!

Broken Arm Doesnt Bother Me

Hanging out in the ER

On Sept. 14th, I received a call from Mt. Loafer Elementary informing me that Myles had fallen off the monkey bars. Me, Maggs and baby Mack were already in the car headed to the store, so getting to the school in my state of panick was quick. I hate getting calls like that and knowing that I am not there to immediately pick him up and access the damage. I arrived at the school, ran into the front office and into the nurses room and Myles was lying there with 7 school employees around the bed. That many people made me a bit anxious. They had made him a make-shift sling and wrap to hold his arm as still as possible. Since it was wrapped I was unable to view how bad it might be. I could tell it wasn't good cuz he was in pain. A lot of pain! We helped him out to the car and opted to check Mason out as well. I'm glad I did since he was a lot of help and we were at the hospital for the rest of the day. We packed up and headed to Provo. I called his pediatrician thinking I'd be able to go into his office and he could check it out. ( we had done this with Mason, 1 year earlier). Of course this was the off day of his dr. So instead we headed to the ER @ Utah Valley. They got him right in and back to a room, because they knew he was in a lot of pain. They finally got him some pain medication and x-rayed and feeling pretty decent. This only took 4 hours! After being in the ER for over 4 hrs the doctors concluded that he needed surgery. They sent in the Specialist and he told me what needed to be done. He needed to put 3 pins in his arm and Myles had a pinched nerve so that was making this an "immediate" surgery. He would be prepped and back in surgery in less than an hour. Of course Ron was not around. He was hunting and had no service. I'm used to this, so no panicking on my part. I texted him several times anyway knowing that eventually his texts would reach him. @ 4:45pm that evening they took him back. I have never had to send one of my babies back for surgery. Its not fun! :( I watched them take him off one way and I headed the other way holding my head up trying not to let it get to me. ( Keep in mind I had a 4 week newborn and the hormones alone with that) I'm glad it went quick and that I didn't have "TIME" to think too much.... He was back there for around an hour and back out and doing really well. The doctor (Dr. Larsen -who did awesome) said everything went very well and he should heal fine. Myles spent the night @ the hospital and was able to go home the next day. He was one tough cookie! On a side note, where he spent the night in the Pediatric Unit is directly next to the Nursery. Baby Mack was a newborn and I joked that they would think I had stolen a newborn out of the nursery!!

Myles is doing fantastic now after the ordeal. He is using it more and more now that his cast is off and the traumatic day is only a memory......:0)

Myles Surgery Aftermath & Thankful for 3 Pins

This is Myles after his traumatic day in the ER. He went in for surgery @ 4:45 in the evening and was done and back to his room for the night @ 6. Everything went well and three pins were placed in his elbow to help it heal. He kept this heavy cast on and the 3 pins in for 4 weeks. At his 4 week checkup everything had healed fantastic. Below are some pics of after surgery and the day of the removal of the cast and pins.
Here he is resting right after surgery...(Surgery done @ Utah Valley Hospital)

This is before the wrapping came off to reveal the pins.

I am still in amazement of these things

Cute boy showing off cast before it was removed

3 Pins.....Here are 2 of them. It amazes me that medically these 3 pins can be put in our bodies to help us heal and be able to re-gain all our mobility back. I broke my ankle when I was 17 and had 3 screws put in my ankle. Even from that time until now things have changed "medically" dramatically. I am in awe at all the awesome things that are being discovered and used to make things better for healing. Sure glad Myles is doing well and that these 3 pins were able to make the use of his arm back to normal!

My Baby is 1 Month & Newborn Pics

So Mack had his first photos taken when he was 6 days old. There are so many I love! He is so much fun and such a good, good baby. We love him to pieces. Today he is exactly 1 month old. I can't believe how fast time flies by. We missed his 2 week checkup since Myles broke his arm (an entirely different post altogether), so we went yesterday. At 1 month here are his numbers:
Weight-10 lb 9 oz (thats a whoppin 3 pounds since birth)
Height-21 inches (2 whole inches)
He's getting big so fast. He already is growing out of his 0-3 month clothes and into his 3-6 month. I dont remember my other kids doing that quite so quick! Adding Mack to the family has been so much fun and the older kids just love him. Maggie has been such a good big helper here at home with me everyday. I find her "baby" talking to him when I'm out of the room. So cute! We love having such a sweet baby... Here's some of my favorite pics of Mack Bear.

Welcoming Baby Mack!!

I've definately had intentions of posting before now, but my time has been spent taking care of the older yayhoos and loving on our sweet, sweet baby. Baby Mack was born August 28th. He arrived at 12:30 pm and weighed 7 lb 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. I was induced that morning and he came about 4 hours later. He was 6 days early and got an August birthday like I wanted. That's not the only reason I chose to be induced. I delivered at Orem Community and from Elk Ridge I was afraid I wouldn't make it there in time on my own. (I tend to go quickly, once I'm in labor) So this worked best for us. Everything went really well and we are so glad to have him here healthy and happy. He is such a good baby. I couldn't of asked for a better little guy. Maybe its because its been almost 5 years since we've had a newborn or that I'm a little older (maybe even wiser too), but Ive made comments that I think Heavenly Father is sending these babies here extra sweet!! He's a great eater and loves to sleep..... Alot! No complaining on that one though. When he is awake, he barely makes a peep. He's extremely loved on by his older brothers and big sis. (And mom and dad too) Here's some pics of our sweet babe........

Some details I wanted to have for my own journaling are some of the things that Mack has done in this first week.
*Since the first time I held Mack, he has tried to hold his head up and move it around..He has one strong neck!
*He loves to look around when he is awake. Not sure what he can see right now but he seems to be taking it all in.
*Had your first professional photos done at our house at 6 days old.. Can't wait to see them!!!
*Already been out and about with Mom several times, since she likes to be on the go.

THAT TIME AGAIN...

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
AUGUST 24TH, 2010
MYLES "MyMy" excited about going to 1st grade

Mason--An already Champ @ Mastering the First Day (3rd Grade this year)

Myles' 1st Grade Teacher- Mrs. Grover
Mason's 3rd Grade Teacher- Mr. Bradley
Pretty sure I was more weary about this big guys first ALL DAY adventure. Sad to see him getting so big. I know that Big Bro Mas will be there to guide him along through this first year and beyond. They were already planning to meet for recesses! Mas is such a good brother to watch over his little bro. I hope they always stay close like that and enjoy playing with one another, even though they have their own separate friends. These two love to shoot their BB guns and plan trips to go hunting with their dad now and when they get older. I love that they are adventurous and pretty good buds. I hope for them to always watch out for each other. Way to be boys!! Makes a moms heart happy to see that!

Camping at the Cabin

So we've been to the cabin a handful of times this summer. The kids love going up there and mostly love going fishing. They have done awesome in their fishing adventures. Its always nice to get away and still stay somewhere where you can have a bath and watch satellite tv. Thats my kind of camping! Can't wait to go back when Mack is born (28 days) for a few more times before it snows.

Here's the kiddos collecting pine cones to decorate the cabin.
I think they gathered 50+ of them

Miss Maggs always ready for a pic
We carved this tree last year and this year had to add Baby Mack to it..
Hoping sometime I can cut whole tree down and have the stump with our names on it

Cheer Camp!! (Summer 2010)

Future Cheerleader

Statue of Liberty

So Maggie did her 1st cheer camp these last 2 weeks. She wasn't legitamately old enough but since she doesnt turn 5 until October and she will not start Kindergarten until next year, they allowed an exception. She had so much fun and today the last day did a little cheer routine for family and friends. She will also be in the Salem parade. She loves to dance, sing, and loves music, so this was fun for her. She definately was born with some rhythm! She was also so proud to show off to her DAD, whom she loves more than anyone else. A true Daddy's Girl.....
