Dos Months

This picture is no reflection on what kind of baby Mack is.... He is the best baby and we are enjoying him so much. On the 28th of October he was 2 months old. I can't believe how fast he's growing and all the things that he's able to do at such a young age. At the drs office on his appointment he was smiling and flirting with the nurse while she was weighing his 12 lb 2 oz body and measuring his 22 1/2 inches of cuteness. Then she gave him 3 shots and he was ticked. I'm sure he's not going to be that nice to her next time! Ever since Mack was born he has been holding his head up. I know everyone likes to say things to brag about their kids but he seriously is the strongest little dude. I don't remember any of my kids being this way. We have had to use little support to help him hold his head up. Now at 2 months he has it completely mastered. He loves to smile and is starting to laugh and coo, which to me is the cutest thing a baby can do. He has rolled over a dozen times and even did twice for the doc @ his 2 month appt. He sleeps, eats, and smells good! We love our little Mack and we are hoping his middle name "Bear" can start rolling off our tongues easier since this was to be his name......

Halloween (Oct.30th) was spent with the kids going out to lunch as a family and hanging out the rest of day in the crazy rain waiting to go Trick or Treating. The kids were so excited and loved their costume choices. We headed to G & G Fjeldsteds before T or T to show off costumes and eat Sloppy Joes. After we headed back home to hit up all the houses for some goodies. It was a fun night and the weather turned out great that night!!

Birthday......5!

This beauty is 5! Her birthday was on Oct. 12th. That day happened to be the same day that Myles was to get his cast removed and pins out. We did that in the morning and then she was able to choose where to eat lunch. She chose Olive Garden... We had lunch there with her Grandma J, Aunt D and her mom and 2 brothers.(Sorry Mas-someone has to go to school) Later that night we had grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles and cousins over for taco salads and cake and ice cream. She got lots of presents and lots of hugs and kisses.

From her grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cuzs she got a gift card to Target!! She spent it well. From her G & G Bartholomew- Jammies

A few things about this little princess that make our lives so great are her raspy voice, her laugh, her wide vocabulary(which sometimes gets her in trouble), the love she has for the boys in her life. She loves her brothers and "really" loves her dad! She will take or leave me.... She is the second mom of the family. She'd like to believe she's the BOSS. She is very girly loving her makeup, shoes, dress-ups and purses, but is dreaming of the day she can dress in camou and go hunting with her dad! She can be sweet and rough and tough too. Maggs loves preschool and her teacher. She is so smart and often practices her writing skills on my wall! She loves dance and her dance teacher Miss Emily. She has been given the nickname "Teen" since she was little and it has stuck-she was so tiny when she was little so we called her teeny tiny and the teen stuck.... She's growing up way to fast and not too tiny anymore.... Love you Teen and Happy 5th Birthday!

Broken Arm Doesnt Bother Me

Hanging out in the ER

On Sept. 14th, I received a call from Mt. Loafer Elementary informing me that Myles had fallen off the monkey bars. Me, Maggs and baby Mack were already in the car headed to the store, so getting to the school in my state of panick was quick. I hate getting calls like that and knowing that I am not there to immediately pick him up and access the damage. I arrived at the school, ran into the front office and into the nurses room and Myles was lying there with 7 school employees around the bed. That many people made me a bit anxious. They had made him a make-shift sling and wrap to hold his arm as still as possible. Since it was wrapped I was unable to view how bad it might be. I could tell it wasn't good cuz he was in pain. A lot of pain! We helped him out to the car and opted to check Mason out as well. I'm glad I did since he was a lot of help and we were at the hospital for the rest of the day. We packed up and headed to Provo. I called his pediatrician thinking I'd be able to go into his office and he could check it out. ( we had done this with Mason, 1 year earlier). Of course this was the off day of his dr. So instead we headed to the ER @ Utah Valley. They got him right in and back to a room, because they knew he was in a lot of pain. They finally got him some pain medication and x-rayed and feeling pretty decent. This only took 4 hours! After being in the ER for over 4 hrs the doctors concluded that he needed surgery. They sent in the Specialist and he told me what needed to be done. He needed to put 3 pins in his arm and Myles had a pinched nerve so that was making this an "immediate" surgery. He would be prepped and back in surgery in less than an hour. Of course Ron was not around. He was hunting and had no service. I'm used to this, so no panicking on my part. I texted him several times anyway knowing that eventually his texts would reach him. @ 4:45pm that evening they took him back. I have never had to send one of my babies back for surgery. Its not fun! :( I watched them take him off one way and I headed the other way holding my head up trying not to let it get to me. ( Keep in mind I had a 4 week newborn and the hormones alone with that) I'm glad it went quick and that I didn't have "TIME" to think too much.... He was back there for around an hour and back out and doing really well. The doctor (Dr. Larsen -who did awesome) said everything went very well and he should heal fine. Myles spent the night @ the hospital and was able to go home the next day. He was one tough cookie! On a side note, where he spent the night in the Pediatric Unit is directly next to the Nursery. Baby Mack was a newborn and I joked that they would think I had stolen a newborn out of the nursery!!

Myles is doing fantastic now after the ordeal. He is using it more and more now that his cast is off and the traumatic day is only a memory......:0)

Myles Surgery Aftermath & Thankful for 3 Pins

This is Myles after his traumatic day in the ER. He went in for surgery @ 4:45 in the evening and was done and back to his room for the night @ 6. Everything went well and three pins were placed in his elbow to help it heal. He kept this heavy cast on and the 3 pins in for 4 weeks. At his 4 week checkup everything had healed fantastic. Below are some pics of after surgery and the day of the removal of the cast and pins.
Here he is resting right after surgery...(Surgery done @ Utah Valley Hospital)

This is before the wrapping came off to reveal the pins.

I am still in amazement of these things

Cute boy showing off cast before it was removed

3 Pins.....Here are 2 of them. It amazes me that medically these 3 pins can be put in our bodies to help us heal and be able to re-gain all our mobility back. I broke my ankle when I was 17 and had 3 screws put in my ankle. Even from that time until now things have changed "medically" dramatically. I am in awe at all the awesome things that are being discovered and used to make things better for healing. Sure glad Myles is doing well and that these 3 pins were able to make the use of his arm back to normal!
